I’m Matt Underwood and X-PT was my concept, my dream, my way of life.

You see I didn’t want to be another fitness professional offering the quickest results at the lowest price. Reason being is that myself and partner, Susan, who helps and supports in the running of our health and fitness philosophy, have a genuine desire to help people.

We promote a mind-set. It’s more than just ‘hitting the gym’ in a savage craze to fit into that bikini or redundant pair of skinny jeans. We encourage our clients to look at the bigger picture, the long term aspirations.

‘A healthy lifestyle has balance’

It’s true; you will never achieve anything long term by jumping in and out of fad or liquid diets. Nor will you maintain an active lifestyle if you don’t enjoy what you are actually doing. Eat well, keep active and these 2 components will stimulate both body and mind.

This is probably not the angle you would expect of an Army veteran but it’s actually my experiences in the forces that contributed mainly to our business mantra, our belief system. Our core values lay in honesty, integrity and willingness to succeed. Add the comradery of a social or a support group to the equation and it’s a formula equalling success.

My personal experiences in fitness and working environments influence everything I do and promote today. I’ve had knock downs and I’ve spent the best part of 2 years of my life in rehabilitation and physiotherapy for knee injuries which effectively ended my football career in my mid 20’s. I suffer from osteoarthritis in my knees and creak like the tin man on those cold winter mornings. However, I’ve improvised and not for 1 minute did I think of throwing the towel in. I still keep myself fit and most importantly I enjoy the things that I do to keep me that way. I suppose my underlying message is that it’s never too late. You are never past the point of no return and you are never too old. It sounds cliché but it’s true, I witness it with my own eyes every single day.

So if you are that person that is sitting at home thinking, ‘there is no way I could start anything like that’ or ‘that’s not for me’ or perhaps it’s simply your nerves that prevent you from getting involved then this is your chance. You are the person we want to help. You are the individual who is on the brink of doing something special. As the saying goes,

‘If you don’t love your body then where are you going to live?’

Commit to yourself and never look back.

We look forward to hearing from you
